Avarua Market, I didn’t get as many snaps as I should have, but these flowers caught my eye. I’ve been trying to edit these photos but just couldn’t get them to look the way I wanted, so I left them as they were, even tho they didn’t quite capture the vividness of the moment. The markets themselves were a bustle of tourists, locals, food and drink, 8 stringed ukuleles, art, pareu (sarongs), all with an obvious love for colour and song. Most of the stalls were temporary, reminding me of the Otara Markets at home, but some including these two were permanent. They seemed at odds with the rest of the market in some ways, but as I saw more of the island I realised that these had their place in society…but that is for another post
